When Intelligent Octopus Go smartly charges your EV, your FoxESS solar battery thinks your house is using massive amounts of power. If left in "Self-Use" mode, it will completely drain your home battery trying to cover the EV load—destroying its lifespan!

This app acts as a smart bridge. It detects your upcoming cheap EV charging slots and automatically switches your FoxESS inverter to Force Charge. This stops your home battery from draining into your car, protects its lifespan, and lets your home battery soak up the cheap off-peak rates too.

Mobile / LAN dashboard client
Enter only the access code configured in the Raspberry Pi server settings. This Pi allows trusted local-network access without an access code. Octopus and FoxESS credentials stay managed by the Pi service.
This is the only setup required on a phone, tablet, or computer on the same network.

  • Inverter Serial: Open the FoxCloud AppDevice. The serial is below the image.
📜 Google Apps Script Relay

Your browser explicitly blocks direct background connections to FoxESS for security (CORS restriction). A free Google Script acts as a safe, private server relay to bypass this.

🍓 Raspberry Pi Local Service

The Pi provides the FoxESS relay and always-on automation worker. Enable Live WS and store its optional web-login credentials in native Server Configuration, then choose Live WS on demand, Always Live WS, or Official REST from this dashboard menu.

The undocumented stream is read-only. Schedule and inverter-control commands always use the official FoxESS REST API. You can close the browser after setup—the supervised worker continues running.

🖥️ Device Tips
  • Raspberry Pi browser: The dedicated Linux installer is recommended for reliable always-on use.
  • Service status: Run sudo systemctl status octopus-foxess octopus-foxess-worker on the Pi.
  • Android Tablets: To run continuously as a dashboard, ensure you disable the automatic screen lock/sleep timeout in your tablet's Settings ➔ Display.

      📅 Forced Charge on Schedule Runs in your device's local time. Overnight ranges use two FoxESS periods: before and after midnight.

      Auto-Resume Self-Use Ends target-price or weekly charging at target SOC. It never cancels an active Smart Dispatch.
      🔋 Smart Discharging Automation
      Smart Dispatch is protected by default. Outside a dispatch, Smart Discharging can pause overlapping Forced Charge periods so the inverter never receives conflicting modes.
      📤 Discharge on Export Price Uses the SEG export tariff only.

      FoxESS accepts at most five active scheduler periods. Adjacent compatible periods are merged; if more than five remain, the app warns before later periods are omitted.
